Masoud Pezeshkian has issued an open letter to American citizens, questioning whether the ongoing conflict in the Middle East truly aligns with the “America First” policy promoted by Donald Trump. The letter comes amid escalating tensions following the U.S.-Israel offensive launched against Iran on February 28.
In his message, Pezeshkian accused the United States of targeting Iran’s critical infrastructure, including energy and industrial facilities, describing such actions as war crimes. He warned that the consequences of the conflict extend far beyond Iran, contributing to instability, economic disruption, and long-term global repercussions.
The Iranian president also questioned whether the war serves the interests of American citizens, suggesting that Washington may be acting under the influence of Israel. He emphasized that ordinary Americans are not enemies of Iran, despite ongoing geopolitical tensions and military actions.
The letter comes ahead of Trump’s national address on the conflict, as global concerns grow over rising oil prices and disruptions linked to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. With diplomatic efforts ongoing, the situation remains uncertain, raising fears of further escalation and prolonged instability in the region.
