In the first quarter of 2026, Dubai's Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) announced impressive outcomes from its “Fruits of Your Charity” program. The initiative has benefitted more than 190 individuals with a total expenditure nearing AED 18 million, showcasing a commitment to sustainable charitable efforts.
This initiative embodies Dubai’s goal of transforming charity into long-term developmental support, focusing on pivotal areas such as healthcare, education, and family welfare.
In health services alone, over AED 1.3 million was directed towards aiding 77 patients, which included covering medical expenses and supplying necessary equipment, thereby enhancing their recovery and quality of life.
The “Chair of Knowledge” program allocated more than AED 160,000 for student support, aiding them in remaining enrolled by covering tuition fees and easing financial burdens for families. This underscores the significance of education for future progress.
Additionally, the housing initiative, as part of the Year of the Family 2026, granted close to AED 200,000 to Emirati households to elevate their living standards and bolster familial stability, pivotal for a harmonious society.
The “Relief of Distress” initiative was crucial in assisting financially challenged inmates, allocating around AED 1.6 million to clear debts and facilitate the reintegration of 15 individuals into society.
Other targeted initiatives, including humanitarian aid and the “Jood” platform, contributed over AED 14 million, illustrating the extensive reach of IACAD’s philanthropic mission.
Mohammed Musabeh Dhahi, CEO of the Charitable Work Sector, noted that these figures signify a transition towards lasting humanitarian investments rather than merely temporary assistance. He reiterated the objective of enhancing life quality, supporting families, and empowering communities.
He further expressed IACAD's determination to innovate and strengthen its partnerships to amplify the effect of charitable endeavors. The department aspires to aid Dubai's ambition of becoming a global hub for philanthropy and humanitarian efforts.
