The Department of Planning and Development– “Trakhees” at the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) has successfully concluded an extensive inspection initiative in the first quarter of 2026, covering a total of 356 beauty and salon establishments throughout Dubai.
Officials revealed that the compliance rate for health and safety regulations stood at an impressive 94.11%, underscoring a solid commitment to maintaining standards in personal care facilities. This inspection was part of Trakhees’ persistent efforts to enhance public health safeguards, elevate service quality, and ensure a viable business landscape.
The initiative was managed by the Environment, Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHSS) Department through its Health and Safety Inspection Section, focusing on the application of approved health protocols and operational statutes in salons and beauty centers.
Inspection teams evaluated critical areas, including hygiene practices, sterilization methods, and the safe handling of equipment and cosmetic products, ensuring all business activities complied with relevant regulations. Authorities also aimed to inform business owners and employees about the necessity of maintaining hygienic practices and a safe atmosphere for patrons.
Eng. Abdulla Mohammed Belhoul, CEO of the Department of Planning and Development– Trakhees at PCFC, emphasized that this initiative reflects the department’s rigorous and forward-looking stance on safeguarding community health and safety. He noted that the high compliance figure indicates the effectiveness of the regulation system in fostering a strong compliance culture among businesses.
Belhoul elaborated that actions against non-compliant establishments are part of a transparent policy that firmly addresses health requirement violations, regardless of their severity.
Furthermore, Trakhees is committed to enhancing its inspection and monitoring capabilities to swiftly identify and rectify non-compliant practices, ensuring the safety of customers and employees while upholding elevated standards in Dubai's personal care sector.
