Google has significantly expanded its AI-powered Search Live feature, making it available in over 200 countries and territories, marking a major step toward conversational and real-time search experiences.
The feature allows users to interact with search using voice and camera in real time, enabling a more natural and hands-free experience. Instead of typing queries, users can speak directly or point their phone camera at objects to receive instant, contextual responses.
This global rollout is powered by Google’s advanced Gemini 3.1 Flash Live model, designed to deliver faster, more intuitive, and multilingual conversations.
A key highlight of the update is its expanded support for Indian languages. Previously limited to English and Hindi, Search Live now supports several regional languages including Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu, making the feature more accessible to millions of users across India.
The feature is especially useful in situations where typing is inconvenient, such as while traveling, repairing devices, or performing tasks like assembling furniture. Users can ask follow-up questions, creating a continuous, conversational flow similar to interacting with a human assistant.
Search Live can be accessed via the Google app on Android and iOS by tapping the “Live” icon, or through tools like Google Lens.
With this move, Google is strengthening its push into AI-driven search, aiming to make information access more intuitive, multilingual, and context-aware—especially in diverse markets like India where language accessibility is critical.
