The Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance (ADAEP) has officially revealed its grand jury for this award cycle, solidifying the initiative's reputation as a standard for government excellence. The jury is composed of respected leaders from Abu Dhabi and various regions worldwide, encompassing both public and private sector representatives.
Part of a broader governmental initiative aimed at enhancing institutional effectiveness and facilitating collaboration between entities, the award adheres to the Abu Dhabi Government Performance and Excellence Model. This framework is focused on human-centric outcomes, sustainable public value, and improving life quality while preparing governance for future challenges.
The award's evaluation is founded on a thorough process, with more than 90 experts from both local and international spheres appraising 37 government entities and 103 initiatives across different categories. Notably, this year marks the integration of AI-driven evaluations, improving decision-making and insight generation. The final laureates will be determined by the jury.
Leading the jury is Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, the UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and the Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNOC. The jury features prominent members like Saif Saeed Ghobash, Ala’a Eraiqat, Mariana Mazzucato, and Andreas Jacobs.
This eclectic group combines expertise across governance, innovation, academia, and business, providing a comprehensive viewpoint on public value, performance, and institutional change.
Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber highlighted that excellence is at the core of Abu Dhabi’s strategy, emphasizing that the award supports the emirate’s goal of becoming the first fully AI-native government by 2027. He underscored the importance of technological advancements in enhancing service quality, refining decision-making, and achieving measurable public outcomes.
Saif Saeed Ghobash noted that the jury reflects a harmonious blend of leadership experience and global benchmarking skills, ensuring that awardees exemplify innovation, adaptability, and impactful contributions to enhancing quality of life.
Mariana Mazzucato commended Abu Dhabi’s efforts, calling it a beacon for how governments can prioritize public value. She drew attention to the award’s commitment to inclusivity, sustainability, and long-term societal benefits beyond conventional performance indicators.
The recipients of the 2026 award cycle are set to be unveiled in April 2026, aiming to redefine benchmarks for excellence in government performance and innovation.
