The Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Dubai SME), under the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), has formed a partnership with noon Food aimed at bolstering the growth of Emirati-owned SMEs within the food and beverage (F&B) sector.
Formalized via a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), this collaboration details a comprehensive strategy to integrate eligible Dubai SME members onto noon’s digital marketplace. This integration provides businesses with access to an extensive customer network, delivery logistics, payment solutions, and targeted marketing efforts.
This initiative resonates with Dubai’s Economic Agenda D33, designed to double the emirate’s economy by 2033 and establish it as a premier hub for SMEs and entrepreneurship.
As part of the agreement, noon Food will waive onboarding fees for participating SMEs and introduce a progressive commission model over five years, starting at 10% in the initial year and reaching 20% by year five. Additionally, noon will deliver marketing resources, including promotional credits and enhanced visibility during crucial seasonal campaigns, to help businesses expand their customer reach and sustain growth.
Operational assistance will also feature, including guidance on onboarding, expert advice, dedicated account management, and monthly performance analytics. These resources are tailored to boost the operational efficiency of SMEs while ensuring transparency.
Dubai SME is tasked with selecting eligible F&B businesses, endorsing the initiative, and facilitating effective execution to maximally benefit Emirati entrepreneurs.
Ahmad Al Room Almheiri, Acting CEO of Dubai SME, emphasized that this collaboration will unlock new avenues for local entrepreneurs by merging government backing with the capabilities of a digital platform. This effort aims to enable sustainable growth of SMEs and enhance their competitiveness in the digital landscape.
Faraz Khalid, Group CEO of noon, remarked that this partnership equips Emirati enterprises with essential tools and infrastructure for rapid growth, while contributing to Dubai’s broader economic aspirations.
With SMEs comprising over 95% of registered businesses in Dubai, they play a vital role in job creation, innovation, and economic diversification. Emirati-owned F&B enterprises specifically are key players in shaping Dubai’s culinary landscape and driving digital commerce.
This collaborative five-year endeavor between Dubai SME and noon Food aims to broaden market opportunities, enhance brand visibility, and fast-track the digital transformation for local F&B entrepreneurs.
