Dubai is expanding its outdoor tourism landscape with the introduction of the first integrated recreational vehicle (RV) route in the region. This initiative, announced by Dubai Municipality, establishes a cohesive network of RV stations, equipped parks, and interconnected road-trip routes within the emirate.
The initiative aims to pioneer a fresh model of tourism blending adventure with convenience, significantly improving the lifestyle of residents and visitors alike. Through this thoughtfully designed RV network, Dubai seeks to reinforce its status as a prime locality for RV tourism in the area.
Led by Dubai Municipality, the project will focus on developing essential infrastructure and implementing a regulatory framework. This will empower private developers and operators to construct and maintain RV routes and designated parks across Dubai, fostering new investment prospects, diversifying tourism offerings, and establishing a robust RV tourism ecosystem.
This RV route will connect Dubai’s unique natural settings, ranging from mountains to beaches and deserts. Visitors will enjoy the beauty of these landscapes through a well-connected network of serviced stops and parks, providing an enriching mix of outdoor activities, cultural insights, and contemporary facilities in safe, accessible environments.
Bader Anwahi, the Chief Executive Officer of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, remarked that this initiative highlights Dubai’s dedication to innovative and sustainable tourism. He emphasized that by laying strong foundations in regulatory measures and infrastructure, the municipality is promoting private sector involvement while providing families and visitors with new opportunities to explore Dubai’s scenic areas through well-organized outdoor attractions.
This project corresponds with Dubai’s broader quality-of-life goals and aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which seeks to enhance the emirate's global positioning through innovation, sustainability, and economic diversification.
The proposed RV routes and parks will be crafted as year-round destinations suitable for families. Their development will encompass hospitality, culinary, wellness, and recreational amenities, ensuring a comfortable experience for visitors of every age and ability.
To stimulate growth in this sector, Dubai Municipality plans to offer investment incentives, including subsidies and reduced land costs for operators and developers. Collaborating with financial institutions will also provide flexible funding options to promote RV ownership, rentals, and associated services.
This RV tourism network will be marketed through targeted campaigns both regionally and internationally, in partnership with tour operators and private stakeholders. The intent is to boost RV travel, draw in manufacturers and service providers, and position Dubai as a regional hub for RV tourism.
Dubai Municipality has also called upon investors, tour operators, RV park proprietors, and global partners to help shape and manage this emerging network. Envisioned as a long-term venture, this initiative will support sustainable tourism, foster economic growth, and enhance community welfare, while reinforcing Dubai’s image as a progressive global destination.
