Dubai Blast Smoke Seen Near Burj Khalifa

Dubai Blast Smoke Seen Near Burj Khalifa

Post by : Shakul

Loud explosions shook parts of Dubai after a suspected drone interception triggered blasts and a cloud of smoke above buildings near the city’s central district, with the iconic Burj Khalifa visible in the background.

Witnesses reported hearing a powerful double explosion that rattled nearby buildings and sent thick black smoke rising into the sky. Emergency sirens were heard across areas near Sheikh Zayed Road, one of the city’s main highways.

Officials from the Dubai Media Office confirmed that the incident was caused by debris falling after the successful interception of a drone. Authorities said the debris struck the exterior of a building in central Dubai, causing what they described as a “minor incident”.

No injuries were reported in the incident, although some damage occurred to the building’s facade. Police quickly secured the area around the Dubai International Financial Centre, where the explosion was reported.

The incident follows another drone-related event reported a day earlier in the Al Bada’a area of Dubai, where authorities also responded to a minor drone incident after explosions were heard in the downtown district.

Security forces have since cordoned off the affected zone while investigators assess the damage and determine the origin of the drone.

The Gulf region has faced increased tensions since the escalation of the Middle East conflict in late February, with several drone and missile incidents reported across the region. Analysts say key financial hubs such as Dubai remain on high alert as regional security threats continue to evolve.

Authorities in the United Arab Emirates have not yet released full details about the intercepted drone or who may have launched it.
