Dubai Culture & Spotify Unite to Boost UAE Music Talent Globally

Dubai Culture & Spotify Unite to Boost UAE Music Talent Globally

Post by : Meena Ariff

Dubai Culture has signed a historic agreement with Spotify to empower emerging musicians and local artists across the UAE. This unique partnership aims to expand opportunities, support professional growth, and boost the global presence of Emirati and UAE-based talent.

This first-of-its-kind collaboration between a government cultural authority and a global music platform will enable both parties to share knowledge and resources. Together, they plan to develop cultural initiatives that align with international standards and current music trends worldwide.

The partnership includes launching joint programs that provide artists with access to valuable tools, platforms, and specialized data analytics. These resources are designed to enhance musicians’ competitiveness, deepen audience understanding, and sustain creative careers over time.

Dubai Culture and Spotify will also co-create music projects that highlight Dubai’s vibrant creative community. These efforts support Dubai’s vision to become a global cultural hub and a thriving center for creativity and talent.

Hala Badri, Director General of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, emphasized the importance of nurturing talent: “Our goal is to help musicians grow, produce their work, and build lasting careers in a supportive environment. This partnership with Spotify strengthens our efforts across the music sector.”

Gustav Gyllenhammar, Senior Vice President at Spotify, praised Dubai’s creative diversity and strategic location: “Dubai is a cultural crossroads where innovation and tradition meet. We’re excited to support local artists and help bring Dubai’s music to the world.”

Dubai Culture’s existing initiatives, including grants, residencies, and learning programs, will be enhanced through this alliance. The agreement reflects a commitment to foster a sustainable creative ecosystem, encouraging artistic expression, cultural exchange, and innovation.

Spotify’s experience as the world’s leading audio streaming service will further benefit the partnership. Programs like RADAR Arabia and Fresh Finds Arabia, which spotlight emerging talent, align closely with Dubai Culture’s mission to support rising artists and connect them with global audiences.

This collaboration marks an important step toward positioning Dubai as a global leader in the creative industries, building bridges between local talent and international music markets.
