The Dubai Chambers has adeptly facilitated 276 bilateral business meetings between firms based in Dubai and those in Accra, Ghana's capital, as part of its inaugural trade mission to both Ghana and Ethiopia.
This initiative is part of the chamber's 'New Horizons' program, aimed at guiding Dubai enterprises towards emerging international markets while fostering robust global business collaborations.
The delegation comprised representatives from 19 Dubai-based enterprises spanning several sectors, including automotive, construction, electronics, engineering, FMCG, food and beverages, interior design, mining and metals, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, printing and packaging, and textiles.
Salem AlShamsi, the Executive Vice President of International Relations at Dubai Chambers, affirmed the chamber’s dedication to enhancing economic and trade collaboration between Dubai and Ghana, thereby generating sustainable business avenues for both territories.
He mentioned that the trade mission unveils new dialogue channels and assists Dubai firms in identifying expansion prospects within the Ghanaian market. Additionally, the initiative serves to boost the competitive edge of Dubai's private sector and promote the growth of non-oil foreign trade in the emirate.
Among the events was the 'Dubai-Ghana Business Connect' forum, organized by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the UAE Embassy in Ghana, the Ghana Consulate General in the UAE, the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre.
This forum drew 532 participants, including governmental representatives, business leaders, and investors eager to forge partnerships between Dubai and Ghana.
Keynote speakers included H.E. Dr. Abdulla Murad Al Mandoos, UAE Ambassador to Ghana; H.E. Grace El Mahmoud Marabe, Consul General of Ghana in Dubai; Stéphane Miezan, President of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and Simon Madjie, CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre.
During this engagement, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce spotlighted Dubai’s compelling economic landscape and its allure as a prime global hub for trade and investment. The Ghana Investment Promotion Centre also showcased various investment potential in Ghana, emphasizing the nation’s strategic role as a portal to the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
Trade relations between Dubai and Ghana are witnessing significant growth, with the non-oil trade volume reaching AED 39.6 billion in 2025, reflecting a remarkable 60.1% year-on-year surge.
This burgeoning partnership is mirrored in the membership records of the Dubai Chambers, with 225 Ghanaian firms registered as active members by the close of the first quarter of 2026, including 16 new additions during this quarter.
Key sectors represented among Ghanaian member firms include trading and services, real estate, business services, transport, communication, social and personal services, and construction.
