In a strategic move to bolster economic relations, Dubai hosted a high-level roundtable focused on trade and investment opportunities with Serbia. Key leaders from both regions, including Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers; Stevan Nikčević, State Secretary of Serbia’s Ministry of Foreign and Internal Trade; and Vladimir Marić, Serbia’s Ambassador to the UAE, were present to discuss collaborative efforts.
The talks centered on numerous sectors like construction, energy, information technology, agri-food, healthcare, fintech, industrial automation, and transportation. Both entities looked to enhance bilateral trade, promote joint ventures, and create sustainable business opportunities for their respective communities.
Dubai's attractiveness for Serbian entrepreneurs is underscored by the addition of 83 new Serbian firms to the Dubai Chamber of Commerce in 2024 alone, bringing the total to 293 active Serbian businesses. Additionally, the bilateral non-oil trade surged by 44 percent year-on-year, hitting around AED336 million.
Experts observe that these advancements represent a larger initiative by Dubai to establish itself as a global investment hub, engaging diverse markets and promoting fruitful international collaborations.
