Diljit Dosanjh Teases Punjabi-Latin Anthem ‘Senorita’ on Birthday”

Post by : Meena Ariff

Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh is ringing in his 42nd birthday today, January 6, with an exciting surprise for fans. The singer-actor teased his upcoming international single “Senorita”, a collaboration with Colombian music icon J Balvin.

Diljit shared the teaser on Instagram, captioning it: “Birthday Surprise with The Pride of Colombia. Big Brother J Balvin. Hello Balvinistas.” The video opens with vibrant floral decor and a lively background score, blending Punjabi and Latin sounds for a global party vibe. Toward the end, J Balvin makes a special appearance. The full video is set to release tomorrow, January 7.

J Balvin, a major figure in Latin music, has won 11 Billboard Latin Music Awards, 6 Latin Grammys, 5 MTV Video Music Awards, and 7 Latin American Music Awards. His breakthrough single 6 AM featuring Farruko came out in 2014, and he is recognized as the first Latino artist to perform at festivals like Lollapalooza, Coachella, and Tomorrowland.

Meanwhile, Diljit is also preparing for the release of Border 2, a war drama directed by Anurag Singh and a spiritual sequel to JP Dutta’s 1997 film Border. The movie stars Diljit alongside Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Ahan Shetty, with Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Medha Rana, and Anya Singh in supporting roles.

On January 2, the makers unveiled the song Ghar Kab Aaoge, a reimagined version of the original Sandese Aate Hain, sung by Diljit, Arijit Singh, Vishal Mishra, and Sonu Nigam. Produced by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series in association with JP Films, Border 2 draws inspiration from the 1999 Kargil conflict and hits theaters on January 23.
