In an exciting announcement, DIEZ and VOLT UAE have formed a partnership to create a cutting-edge AI-ready data centre located in Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO). This initiative aims to bolster Dubai's status as a global leader in digital technology and artificial intelligence.
The announcement was made with the participation of distinguished officials such as Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, Executive Chairman of DIEZ, along with Han de Groot, CEO of VOLT, Koenraad Crooijmans from VOLT, and Amel Chadli, President of Gulf Cluster at Schneider Electric.
The new facility will encompass an area of 60,000 square metres and will be developed in two stages. The first phase will contribute 29 MW of ready capacity, followed by an additional 100 MW in the second phase.
Designed to cater to advanced AI and high-performance computing needs, the data centre will boast robust infrastructure, reinforced design, and fully redundant systems, ensuring maximum reliability and uninterrupted operations.
According to the agreement, DIEZ will supply the land and essential infrastructure, while VOLT UAE will manage development, financing, construction, leasing, and operational tasks.
Schneider Electric, located in Dubai Silicon Oasis, will be responsible for delivering cutting-edge electrical systems, smart infrastructure, and power distribution solutions to enhance the facility's efficiency and sustainability.
Officials noted that this project aligns seamlessly with Dubai's D33 economic agenda and supports the AED 11 billion District IO development focused on future technologies, innovation, and research growth in the area.
The partnership underscores the strong confidence of global investors in Dubai's digital ecosystem and its forward-looking economic framework.
VOLT UAE referred to the data centre as an "AI factory" capable of transforming energy resources into computational power for extensive artificial intelligence applications.
Schneider Electric emphasized that this initiative aims to establish new global benchmarks for AI-ready data centres, integrating solutions that cover everything from power systems to cooling and monitoring technologies.
This project embodies Dubai's commitment to developing premier digital infrastructure, poised to meet the rising demand for artificial intelligence and advanced computing in the region.
