Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Transferred to New Jersey Prison

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Transferred to New Jersey Prison

Post by : Rameen Ariff

Hip-hop icon Sean “Diddy” Combs has officially been transferred to a New Jersey federal prison to complete the rest of his four-year sentence on prostitution-related charges. According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Combs is now housed at Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institute, a low-security male facility about 55 kilometers east of Philadelphia.

Combs’ legal team had earlier requested the court to recommend his transfer to Fort Dix, citing the facility’s drug rehabilitation programs as crucial for his recovery and reintegration. His attorney, Teny Geragos, stated that Fort Dix would best support Combs’ rehabilitation efforts and family visits, helping him “address drug abuse issues and rebuild positively.”

The 55-year-old music mogul, known for founding Bad Boy Records, has already served 14 months of his 50-month sentence. His current release date is set for May 8, 2028, though participation in drug treatment and educational programs may reduce his time behind bars.

Earlier this week, Combs’ lawyers also filed an appeal challenging the legality of his conviction, seeking expedited consideration that could lead to a reduction in his sentence if successful.

Combs was convicted in July for orchestrating and funding drug-fueled encounters with sex workers over several years. However, he was acquitted of more serious charges including sex trafficking and racketeering, which carried potential life sentences.

In a letter to the court before sentencing, Combs expressed remorse, saying he had undergone a “spiritual reset” during incarceration and was committed to remaining a drug-free, peaceful person moving forward.

The rapper’s transfer marks a significant chapter in his legal journey, as he works toward rehabilitation and a possible appeal decision in the coming months.
