In an era when new films constantly flood theaters, Dhurandhar has managed to sustain an extraordinary hold on the box office, proving its immense appeal and staying power. Even after 39 days of release, the film continues to attract large crowds across India, amassing a remarkable domestic total of Rs 860.10 crore.
Official figures reveal that on its sixth Monday alone, Dhurandhar earned an impressive Rs 2.70 crore—a rarity for weekday collections in today’s cinema landscape, where box office earnings typically dip during the week. This continued momentum is reflected in its weekly earnings: the film raked in Rs 218 crore in its opening week, surged to Rs 261.5 crore in the second week, followed by Rs 189.3 crore in the third, Rs 115.7 crore in the fourth, and Rs 56.35 crore in the fifth week.
Film trade analysts highlight that Dhurandhar remains the preferred choice for moviegoers even in its sixth week, boosted by strategic discounted ticket offers and positive word of mouth. Such steady weekday numbers are nearly unprecedented in recent times, illustrating the deep connection the film has forged with audiences.
Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, is inspired by real-life events but features a fictional protagonist believed to be loosely based on Major Mohit Sharma, one of India’s brave soldiers. The film explores intricate socio-political themes and ethnic dynamics in Pakistan, weaving a gripping narrative that combines action with nationalism. Directed by Aditya Dhar—who gained acclaim for Uri: The Surgical Strike—the film marks a powerful return for the filmmaker, introducing a new cinematic language centered on intense patriotism and realistic storytelling.
This ongoing box office success, paired with its compelling plot and strong performances, firmly establishes Dhurandhar as one of the year’s biggest blockbusters. Audiences continue to flock to theaters, proving that the film’s message and cinematic execution resonate deeply, week after week.
