Ranveer Singh's latest film 'Dhurandhar' is making waves at the box office as one of the year's top successes. Even after two weeks in theaters, it demonstrates impressive staying power. On its 15th day, the film surpassed the ₹470 crore milestone, solidifying its appeal among viewers nationwide.
Directed by Aditya Dhar and released on December 5, 'Dhurandhar' initially received mixed reviews. Yet, thanks to strong word-of-mouth and a supportive fan base, it quickly gained traction. With packed cinemas, loyal repeat viewers, and significant weekend sales, the movie has firmly established itself as a blockbuster.
As reported by industry tracker Sacnilk, 'Dhurandhar' collected approximately ₹11.69 crore by Friday evening, bringing its cumulative total to around ₹472.19 crore within 15 days. Experts predict that it will exceed ₹480 crore by day's end, marking yet another achievement.
In its first week alone, the film generated ₹207.25 crore, surpassing the Hindi version record set by 'Pushpa 2,' which earned ₹196.50 crore in the same span. Notably, 'Dhurandhar' enjoyed remarkable growth even into its second week, raking in about ₹253.25 crore—an uncommon feat in the current box office scenario.
As it enters its third week, 'Dhurandhar' remains a magnet for audiences but faces competition from the eagerly awaited 'Avatar: Fire and Ash,' directed by James Cameron, expected to attract large crowds. The focus now shifts to see if 'Dhurandhar' can maintain its momentum.
This action-packed spy thriller unfolds largely in Pakistan, with Singh portraying an Indian spy who infiltrates terror networks in the Lyari region. The film’s mix of action, suspense, and emotional narrative has resonated strongly with viewers. The cast includes stars like R Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, and Sara Arjun, enhancing its appeal.
Produced by Jio Studios under Jyoti Deshpande and B62 Studios helmed by Aditya and Lokesh Dhar, this film is the first of a planned two-part series. It follows the journey of Singh's character Hamza Ali Mazari, later discovered to be Jaskirat Singh Rangi, a deep-cover agent. The sequel is slated for release on March 19, 2026.
With remarkable box office earnings, sustained audience interest, and a sequel in the making, 'Dhurandhar' is solidifying its status as one of the most successful Hindi films of 2025. Its ongoing box office performance reflects not only star charisma but also the growing demand for expansive, narrative-rich action films.
