Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) Ltd has finalized a long-term leasing agreement with AJet and Turkish Airlines for 10 new Boeing 737-8 aircraft. The deliveries are scheduled in two phases: part of the fleet will arrive in 2026, while the remainder is slated for 2027. This agreement highlights AJet's commitment to growing its presence in Türkiye's flourishing aviation sector.
Firoz Tarapore, DAE’s CEO, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating that this alliance allows DAE to support a longstanding client like Turkish Airlines while facilitating AJet's expansion with modern, fuel-efficient aircraft. He emphasized that Türkiye is among the world's fastest-growing aviation markets, fueling a strong need for updated fleets. Data from Türkiye’s Ministry of Transport indicates a 5.7 percent rise in flight movements in the first half of 2025, signifying a boost in passenger travel and air traffic.
Tarapore acknowledged the trust exhibited by both Turkish Airlines and AJet, wishing the airlines success as they integrate the new aircraft. He added that the chosen models are advanced, fuel-efficient technologies aimed at reducing emissions and operational expenses—a vital consideration for airlines focused on sustainability.
The Boeing 737-8 is part of the enhanced 737 MAX family, recognized for its superior fuel efficiency and performance on medium-haul routes. For AJet, which is growing its domestic and international routes, these aircraft provide essential efficiency and flexibility. The refreshed fleet will enable AJet to manage increasing passenger volumes and expand its route offerings.
Currently, DAE owns or manages a total of 236 Boeing aircraft, including 119 from the 737 MAX family. This underlines DAE’s strong commitment to this aircraft type and its enduring collaboration with Boeing. A sizable Boeing fleet reinforces DAE’s pivotal role in facilitating airline development globally by offering modern aviation solutions.
This new deal serves as a crucial advancement for Türkiye’s aviation industry. With a growing number of travelers and increasing tourism, airlines like AJet and Turkish Airlines are prioritizing fleet expansion with efficient and high-quality jets. The surge in flights and airport infrastructure in Türkiye suggests that the demand for advanced aircraft will continue to rise.
By entering this leasing arrangement with DAE, AJet is better positioned to meet upcoming travel demands, enhance punctuality, and provide a more comfortable journey for its passengers. The scheduled arrival of the new jets in 2026 and 2027 will bolster AJet's long-term growth and modernization strategy.
In conclusion, this agreement signifies a major milestone for DAE, AJet, and Turkish Airlines. It showcases DAE’s robust standing in the global aircraft leasing landscape and its dedication to empowering airline partners with modern solutions. Additionally, it solidifies AJet’s future endeavors, guaranteeing that travelers benefit from a reliable and contemporary fleet.
