The United Arab Emirates is all set to showcase a remarkable cultural event honoring the Indian community's rich traditions and the enduring friendship with the UAE. Scheduled for Sunday, October 26, at Zabeel Park in Dubai, this occasion is anticipated to attract over 70,000 attendees from various nationalities.
Now in its second annual iteration, the celebration aims to emphasize the profound bond shared between the UAE and India, with a focus on culture, unity, and community spirit. It will reflect the essential contributions of the Indian community to the UAE's socio-economic landscape.
Organized under the initiative “Emirates Loves India,” which seeks to enhance cultural ties and friendship, the event promises an array of live performances, showcasing traditional Indian music and dance, along with family-friendly entertainment. Attendees can delight in a variety of food stalls offering authentic Indian cuisine, showcasing the country's diverse regional flavors.
High-profile Attendance and Cultural Cohesion
Minister of State Noura Al Kaabi and A. Amarnath, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, are slated to grace the occasion, alongside diplomats, business leaders, and members from both the Emirati and Indian communities.
Minister Al Kaabi stated that events promoting cultural exchanges are a testament to the strong friendship between the UAE and India. She further noted that both nations share “mutual respect, cultural appreciation, and a unified vision for progress and peace.”
A. Amarnath, a leader in the Indian community, expressed gratitude towards the UAE leadership for supporting Indians and fostering cultural harmony, referring to the UAE as a “second home” to millions of Indians.
A Decades-Long Partnership
The bond between India and the UAE has deepened over the years, beginning with the Cultural Agreement signed in January 1975, laying the groundwork for ongoing cultural and educational exchanges.
The signing of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement in 2017 marked a significant enhancement of cooperation across trade, culture, technology, and education.
Following this, the 2018 Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) was pivotal in boosting trade and investment, targeting a non-oil trade volume of $100 billion by 2030.
Since its implementation in May 2022, CEPA has reported considerable success, with non-oil trade reaching $37.6 billion in the first half of 2025, indicating a 33.9% increase from the previous year, showcasing the benefits of a close bilateral relationship.
A Celebration with Economic Implications
This event symbolizes a celebration of art, culture, and friendship, and it also signifies the economic resilience and trust shared by both nations. The UAE is home to over 3.5 million Indians, making it one of the largest Indian expatriate communities globally. Indians are integral to various sectors, including healthcare, education, business, and technology.
The “Emirates Loves India” celebration at Zabeel Park promises not only enjoyment for families but also serves as a reminder of how cultural connections can enhance diplomatic and economic relationships.
As both nations strive for peace, prosperity, and progress, this event stands as a powerful symbol of unity and respect between the people of the UAE and India.
