In a commendable move, the Community Development Authority (CDA) in Dubai has rolled out various humanitarian initiatives ahead of Eid Al Adha, reaching over 11,700 individuals across the emirate. These programs align with the UAE’s goals for the “Year of Family,” focusing on enhancing family stability and fostering community well-being.
The prominent “Eidiya” initiative, valued at AED 27.7 million, was supported by multiple government, private, and charitable organizations. It encompasses financial aid directed toward families, minors, fishermen, and various vulnerable groups registered with the CDA.
Key participants in this initiative include the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation, Union Coop, Dubai Land Department, Khalifa Juma Al Nabooda Group, Beit Al Khair Society, Dar Al Ber Society, and Tarahum Charity Foundation.
Her Excellency Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, CDA’s Director General, remarked that these initiatives embody the UAE’s principles of compassion and collective social responsibility. She emphasized the significance of community partnerships in elevating living standards and fortifying social bonds within Dubai.
Moreover, she underscored that these endeavors align with the Dubai Social Agenda 33, which aims at creating a more cohesive society and enhancing social protection systems for residents.
The program was particularly focused on families and individuals receiving financial aid from the CDA, including minors and fishermen. It also featured prepaid support cards for fishermen provided by Union Coop. Additionally, the CDA hosted a co-design session with fishermen to better understand their needs and bolster long-term support for this sector.
In a generous contribution, Beit Al Khair Society allocated AED 5 million through the “Jood” platform to bolster the Community Development Fund, thus widening the scope of support for families and vulnerable groups.
Also, in partnership with the UAE Food Bank, an initiative of Dubai Municipality, the CDA distributed 250 fruit baskets during Eid Al Adha.
These baskets were delivered directly to beneficiaries’ homes, assisting 65 participants from the “Waleef” initiative and 185 senior citizens at Al Barsha Majlis. This initiative aimed to foster sustainable humanitarian efforts and ensure improved access to community services for older residents and vulnerable groups.
Through these initiatives, the CDA has reiterated its ongoing commitment to aiding families, enhancing community partnerships, and promoting the values of generosity and social solidarity across Dubai.
