Border 2, starring Sunny Deol, is creating waves across the box office with an extraordinary opening performance and is now just a step away from the ₹200 crore milestone in India. The film has emerged as one of the strongest theatrical releases of the year, driven by massive audience turnout, emotional storytelling, and patriotic appeal.
The film opened to impressive numbers, collecting ₹32.10 crore on Friday. The momentum continued on Saturday with ₹40.59 crore, followed by a sharp jump to ₹57.20 crore on Sunday. Monday proved even stronger, with collections rising to ₹63.59 crore. By the end of Monday, the total India nett collection had reached ₹193.48 crore, placing the film firmly on track to cross ₹200 crore within its first week.
On its fifth day, the film added ₹19.5 crore to its total, showing consistent footfall across urban multiplexes and rural single-screen theatres alike. The steady upward trend reflects not just opening-day curiosity, but strong word-of-mouth and repeat audiences, which are crucial indicators of a long theatrical run.
Among Republic Day releases, Border 2 has clearly dominated the festive box office window. Other films released during the same period failed to match its pace, making it the standout performer of the holiday season. This success once again confirms the strong audience connection with war-based patriotic cinema during national celebrations.
The impact of Border 2 is also being felt beyond Indian borders. International collections have pushed the film into the ₹250 crore global gross range, highlighting its wide appeal among overseas audiences and the global Indian diaspora.
With its current momentum, Border 2 is already being compared with some of the biggest blockbusters in recent cinema history. While it still has a long journey ahead to reach all-time record figures, its opening trajectory clearly signals a long and sustained box office presence.
Inspired by the 1971 India–Pakistan conflict, the film focuses on the Indian armed forces’ response to Pakistan’s Operation Changez Khan. Combining large-scale war sequences with emotional depth and patriotic intensity, the film delivers a powerful cinematic experience that resonates across generations.
With soaring collections, strong audience support, and rising momentum, Border 2 is not just a successful film — it is fast becoming one of the biggest cinematic stories of the year.
