Sunny Deol’s Border 2 is proving to be a major box office success, crossing the Rs 300 crore mark globally despite a slight slowdown after the Republic Day weekend. The film has earned over Rs 235 crore in India alone, maintaining a solid hold in theaters across the country.
After a powerful first week, the film saw a dip on Day 8, collecting Rs 11 crore on Friday. Overall occupancy that day was 15%, with morning shows at just 6.5%, afternoon shows at 13%, evening at nearly 17%, and night shows performing best with nearly 24% attendance.
In key cities, Mumbai showed strong numbers with 851 screenings and 21% occupancy, while Delhi NCR had 1,270 shows with just under 15% seats filled.
New release Mardaani 3 opened recently with Rs 3.8 crore on day one but hasn’t impacted Border 2’s steady box office flow.
Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 is the much-anticipated sequel to the 1997 classic war drama. Featuring a talented ensemble cast including Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty, the film continues to capture audiences with its patriotic themes and gripping storytelling.
The movie is produced by Nidhi Dutta and Bhushan Kumar, carrying forward the legacy of the original while making a strong mark in today’s cinematic landscape.
