Bain Capital has officially inaugurated its new office at the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), marking a pivotal expansion of its footprint in the Middle East.
This initiative underscores the firm's robust connections in the region and its unwavering commitment to fostering investments, partnerships, and sustainable advancements in priority industries.
Strategic Move to Foster Regional Development
The Abu Dhabi office will function as a focal point, enhancing Bain Capital's capital-raising objectives while facilitating collaboration with institutional investors throughout the Middle East. It aims to aid the growth of global portfolio companies by linking them with local capital, talent, and market opportunities.
The focus is on various key sectors including aviation, healthcare, digital infrastructure, and financial technology—domains that align with the region’s economic diversification strategies.
Setting the Stage for Future Investments
With this new office, Bain Capital is poised to explore direct investment avenues in the region as markets evolve. The establishment of a local presence aims to enhance stakeholder engagement and recognize emerging opportunities more effectively.
Insights from Leadership
David Gross, Managing Partner at Bain Capital, emphasized the significance of this expansion. He remarked on the lasting partnerships established in the Middle East over decades, explaining that Abu Dhabi offers a strategic foundation with a sound regulatory environment and exceptional global connectivity.
Tom Sargeant, Partner and Head of APAC and Middle East Investor Relations, noted that this move will amplify cooperation with regional investors, many of whom have been longstanding collaborators.
ADGM Welcomes Global Financial Player
Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, Chairman of ADGM, expressed enthusiasm for Bain Capital's entry, mentioning that Abu Dhabi remains a prime destination for leading global financial firms, owing to its stable regulatory framework and access to long-term capital.
He further noted that Bain Capital’s presence enhances Abu Dhabi's status as a global financial center linking international capital to regional opportunities.
Enhancing the Fintech Ecosystem
The office's opening follows Bain Capital’s strategic collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) under the FIDA cluster, focusing on fintech, insurance, digital, and alternative assets.
This partnership further bolsters the advancement of next-generation financial infrastructure and amplifies the regional investment ecosystem.
