The Kingdom of Bahrain has recognized the United Arab Emirates for its effective mediation in a recent prisoner exchange between Russia and Ukraine. This latest exchange involved 410 individuals and was deemed by Bahrain as a significant humanitarian initiative that may aid in alleviating tensions and promote a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict.
According to a statement from the Bahrain News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs lauded the UAE for its diplomatic and humanitarian efforts in facilitating this exchange. It was noted that the UAE has been instrumental since the start of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, successfully helping to release 7,101 prisoners through a total of 23 mediation efforts.
Bahrain reiterated its commitment to supporting all regional and global endeavors aimed at resolving the war through dialogue and peaceful negotiation. The ministry underscored the necessity of minimizing the humanitarian fallout from the conflict, bolstering regional and global stability, and achieving a just and lasting peace.
The UAE has established itself as a proactive humanitarian facilitator in recent mediation efforts between Russia and Ukraine, gaining international acclaim for its crucial role in orchestrating prisoner exchanges throughout the conflict.
