Allied World Assurance Company Holdings Ltd. has officially opened its new office at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), signifying a pivotal move in its expansion efforts within the Middle Eastern market.
This new presence will allow Allied World to deliver tailored insurance solutions directly to regional clients, fostering stronger ties with brokers while meeting the growing demands in risk management.
Ed Moresco, the President of Global Markets at Allied World, shared that this venture in Dubai serves as a critical component of the company’s broader growth strategy. He expressed that the office will enhance access for both brokers and clients throughout the region, facilitating the exchange of international insights and technical know-how.
The opening coincides with DIFC's rise as a premier center for insurance and reinsurance, with gross written premiums surpassing USD 4.2 billion in 2025, marking a 20 percent increase from the last year and more than doubling 2022 results.
Additionally, premiums facilitated through DIFC exceeded USD 3.4 billion in 2025, with a 14 percent year-on-year growth, underscoring the center’s growing significance in underwriting and specialized insurance solutions.
His Excellency Arif Amiri, CEO of DIFC Authority, hailed the arrival of Allied World, emphasizing that its international expertise will address the evolving risk management needs of Middle Eastern clients. He noted that this presence bolsters DIFC’s insurance landscape, further establishing Dubai as a global business hub.
The sector at DIFC boasts over 135 firms engaged in various aspects of insurance, including underwriting and reinsurance. In 2025 and the early months of 2026, the center welcomed 28 new insurance firms, enhancing its appeal as a robust destination for international financial entities.
