Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has officially announced the completion of filming for Welcome to the Jungle, the highly anticipated third installment in the popular Welcome film franchise. Sharing the thrilling update on his Instagram, Akshay treated fans to an exclusive teaser that showcases the film’s impressive and star-studded cast making a dramatic and festive entrance, set against the backdrop of a Christmas jingle.
In a heartfelt message accompanying the teaser, Akshay Kumar extended warm Christmas wishes to his fans and expressed his enthusiasm about being part of a project of such enormous scale. “Never have I ever been part of something so big… none of us have,” he wrote. “We can’t wait to present our gift to you. It’s a wrap, people! Well done, gang. Such a huge effort from everyone involved. From our big family to yours at home, we wish you all the best for 2026.”
The teaser video offers a glimpse of the beloved actors reprising their roles and joining forces once again. Alongside Akshay Kumar, fans will see familiar faces like Raveena Tandon, Suniel Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, and Johny Lever, who have all been integral to the franchise’s signature blend of comedy and action. Adding to the excitement are the newer additions, including Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Aftab Shivdasani, and Rajpal Yadav, who join the ensemble in protective gear, brandishing guns, walking in unison with a sense of purpose, setting the tone for an adrenaline-fueled cinematic experience.
Notably, Akshay’s look in the teaser has caught the attention of fans, as he appears transformed with long white hair and a beard, sporting a rugged avatar that promises a fresh and intense character portrayal.
The Welcome franchise began with the original 2007 blockbuster Welcome, which starred Akshay Kumar alongside Katrina Kaif, Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, and Paresh Rawal. The film was praised for its hilarious storyline, memorable characters, and perfect comic timing. The sequel, Welcome Back (2015), introduced John Abraham and Shruti Haasan as new leads and was directed by Anees Bazmee, continuing the franchise’s winning formula of high-energy comedy mixed with action.
For Welcome to the Jungle, the directorial reins have been handed over to Ahmed Khan, known for his expertise in crafting engaging action sequences and stylish filmmaking. The movie also features a vibrant supporting cast, including fan favorites Lara Dutta, Shreyas Talpade, Kiku Sharda, Krushna Abhishek, Rahul Dev, and the iconic singer duo Daler Mehndi and Mika, who add a unique flavor to the film.
While the film’s detailed storyline remains under wraps, the presence of the extensive and talented ensemble, combined with the franchise’s legacy, promises an entertaining blend of comedy, drama, and action. The film’s production wrap-up signals that post-production work is underway, setting the stage for its scheduled release in cinemas in 2026.
Fans and Bollywood enthusiasts eagerly await the official trailer and further details, anticipating another blockbuster that carries forward the Welcome franchise’s reputation for fun-filled, edge-of-the-seat entertainment. With its massive ensemble cast and high production values, Welcome to the Jungle is expected to be one of the biggest cinematic events of 2026.
