Abu Dhabi's Civil Defence Achieves AHA Stroke Support Certification

Abu Dhabi's Civil Defence Achieves AHA Stroke Support Certification

Post by : Badri Ariffin

The Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority has reached a pivotal achievement by acquiring accreditation for the Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS) program from the American Heart Association (AHA). In addition, the authority has reaffirmed its standing as an authorized AHA training center, showcasing its dedication to maintaining global healthcare standards.

This accreditation signifies a substantial enhancement in Abu Dhabi's emergency healthcare framework. The ASLS program aims to improve rapid and precise stroke assessments, boost clinical decision-making capabilities, and facilitate timely medical interventions anchored in evidence-based strategies. These advancements are poised to greatly enhance patient outcomes and ensure effective coordination between pre-hospital services and emergency departments.

The renewal of AHA training center accreditation underlines the authority's commitment to furnishing emergency responders with elite skills. It continues to deliver specialized training programs, including Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), alongside various first-aid courses. These initiatives are designed to elevate the preparedness and effectiveness of healthcare professionals and the broader community in managing emergencies.

Brigadier Salem Abdullah Bin Barak Al Dhaheri, the authority’s Director General, characterized this achievement as a strategic milestone. He highlighted that the dual recognition underscores a robust commitment to international best practices, enhanced operational integration, and improved emergency response capabilities.

This accomplishment builds on the authority’s vision to create an advanced training ecosystem and strengthen collaborations with esteemed global institutions. It also complements earlier achievements in ambulance services, such as earning the Canadian Diamond Accreditation, further establishing Abu Dhabi as a pioneer in healthcare quality and public safety.

Furthermore, the authority continues to provide accredited training programs for medical professionals and the general public through the TAMM platform. These programs are vital in enhancing emergency preparedness, supporting national readiness, and advancing Abu Dhabi’s vision of a safe and sustainable environment.
