Agthia Group has officially inaugurated the Agthia Academy, in collaboration with Bühler, a dedicated training initiative aimed at enhancing Emirati competencies in food manufacturing, milling, baking, and production across the UAE.
This academy is designed to equip future food industry leaders and aspiring professionals with hands-on skills and global insights, enhancing product quality, efficiency, and manufacturing standards. This effort aligns with the UAE's strategic objectives for food security by developing a proficient local workforce in the food sector.
The academy's launch coincided with Agthia Group's presence at the Make it in the Emirates 2026 exhibition, where the company showcased its commitment to industry-centric education and talent development. Agthia aims to bolster capabilities throughout the food value chain to promote sustainable growth in the industry.
Salmeen Alameri, the Managing Director and CEO of Agthia Group, expressed that the academy underscores the company’s dedication to investing in human capital and enabling Emirati talents to acquire leading expertise in food production.
According to him, the program seamlessly blends theoretical learning with practical applications, thereby enhancing participant consistency, productivity, and operational excellence, which contributes to a robust UAE food economy.
Heiko Feuring, President of Bühler for the Middle East, Africa, and India, noted that this partnership gives participants access to cutting-edge technologies, progressive manufacturing practices, and immersive industry experiences. It will cultivate professionals equipped to foster innovation and sustainability within the UAE’s food landscape.
The academy plans to collaborate with prominent UAE educational institutions, including United Arab Emirates University, Zayed University, and the Abu Dhabi Hospitality Academy – Les Roches. These partnerships aim to refine academic curricula, offer industry-specific training, and create career pathways that meet international industry standards.
The curriculum will feature classroom instruction, technical workshops, and international exposure via Agthia’s facilities in Abu Dhabi and Bühler's renowned training centers in Switzerland.
This initiative significantly elevates Abu Dhabi’s status as a center for advanced food manufacturing, innovation, and sector-focused education.
