Abu Dhabi Unveils Community Responder App for Enhanced Safety

Abu Dhabi Unveils Community Responder App for Enhanced Safety

Post by : Badri Ariffin

In a significant development for community safety, the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority has partnered with the Emergency, Crises and Disasters Management Centre – Abu Dhabi to launch the Community Responder application, now available in major app stores. This project signifies an important advancement in the second phase of the “Our Community is Ready” campaign.

The new app aims to activate a structured volunteer network designed to enhance community readiness and improve the efficacy of emergency responses. This initiative supports the overarching goal of safeguarding lives and property in the emirate.

Developed through collaborations with key organizations, such as the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an and the Emirates Foundation’s SANID Programme, the application is a result of the General Framework for Joint Action on Community Participation and Volunteering. It also underscores the efforts of the “We Are All Police” initiative, emphasizing a collaborative approach to building a sustainable volunteer framework.

As a digital platform, the Community Responder app empowers volunteers to undergo certified training, giving them vital skills to assist effectively in emergencies. This initiative is expected to enhance response times, improve coordination with authorities, and streamline incident management.

Officials noted that this project embodies Abu Dhabi’s forward-thinking vision to engage residents and cultivate a culture focused on prevention and collective responsibility. Community members are encouraged to join the app and play an integral role in enhancing safety and security in the emirate.

This initiative underscores the value of volunteerism as a fundamental aspect of the community framework in Abu Dhabi, fostering resilience and preparedness among its citizens.
