In a landmark move directed by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has sanctioned an extensive housing benefits package totaling AED 1.54 billion for Abu Dhabi citizens.
The initiative aims to support 1,074 Emiratis throughout the emirate.
As part of this initiative, AED 1.41 billion in housing loans will assist 929 individuals, while an exemption for loan repayments amounting to AED 123 million will benefit 145 senior citizens, low-income retirees, and families of deceased citizens.
This housing support package, announced before Eid Al Adha, underscores the leadership's dedication to enhancing family stability, social welfare, and providing appropriate housing options for residents.
His Excellency Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, stated that this initiative emphasizes the leadership’s unwavering commitment to prioritizing citizen needs. He highlighted its role in fostering social stability and ensuring Emirati families have dignified living conditions.
Furthermore, His Excellency Hamad Hareb Al Muhairi, Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, noted that the program promotes family wellbeing and aligns with the UAE's broader developmental objectives. He assured that the authority will enhance housing services for improved accessibility and efficiency for citizens.
With this new approval, the cumulative housing benefits provided in Abu Dhabi for 2026 have reached AED 5.76 billion. Since the inception of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, over 133,000 housing support benefits have been awarded, totaling more than AED 182 billion.
This initiative reaffirms the UAE leadership’s ongoing commitment to ensuring stable housing and elevating citizens' quality of life throughout Abu Dhabi.
