Post by : Badri Ariffin

His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan conferred honors on the winners of the Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance during a distinguished ceremony at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi.

The ceremony saw participation from notable leaders and officials, including Sheikh Khalid bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Dr Ahmed Mubarak bin Nawi Al Mazrouei, and Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, along with department heads and jury members.

These awards highlight excellence and innovation among government entities, acknowledging their commitment to enhancing public services. Recognized organizations have adopted best practices, improved efficiency, and delivered high-caliber services that align with Abu Dhabi’s ambitions and international stature.

Sheikh Khaled expressed that the awards symbolize the leadership’s vision to foster a robust culture of excellence, innovation, and healthy competition within government institutions. He emphasized how such initiatives are pivotal in transforming government services to better meet community needs.

In this awarding cycle, 37 entities and 103 collaborative initiatives were assessed across six categories. Among them, three Excellence Awards recognized the top-performing government departments, alongside three awards for collaborative efforts that stimulate innovation and partnership.

Evaluation was executed by over 90 local and international experts, backed by a technical and grand jury. State-of-the-art AI tools were also incorporated to ensure accurate and impartial evaluations of performance and impact.

In the Excellence Awards domain, the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi claimed the top position, celebrated for significant strides such as reducing infant mortality from 6.8 to 3.8 per 1,000 births over two years alongside achieving a notable IVF success rate of 56%.

Abu Dhabi Police took second place, recognized for its robust governance and community engagement initiatives. Its “We Are All Police” campaign saw participation from over 80,000 volunteers spanning 160 nationalities, and it also cut emergency response time to 6.25 minutes by 2025.

The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi secured third place for its contributions to tourism enhancement, visitor growth, and the global promotion of Emirati culture, including adding three new cultural elements to UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list.

Under the Collaborative Initiatives Awards, several impactful projects were acknowledged. The Strategic Impact Initiative Award was given to the Department of Health’s Centres of Excellence program as well as the Abu Dhabi Census by the Statistics Centre, which utilized 38 million records from 29 entities to establish a real-time digital population system.

The Digital and Artificial Intelligence Initiative Award was awarded to TAMM 3.0 by the Department of Government Enablement and the Abu Dhabi Child Insights System by the Early Childhood Authority, with TAMM 3.0 offering over 1,100 services to 3.3 million users, managing nearly 1.9 million inquiries annually through AI.

The Child Insights System aggregates data from over 14 government entities to enhance service delivery and provide predictive insights for policy formulation.

The Community and Family Impact Initiative Award recognized the Al Falah Development Initiative by the Department of Community Development, which engaged 13 partners and 86 stakeholders to deliver 24 programs within six months, positively affecting the quality of life for 67,000 Al Falah residents.

These accolades reflect Abu Dhabi’s ongoing commitment to enhancing government performance, promoting innovation, and delivering superior services to its citizens.
