Post by : Badri Ariffin

The Integrated Transport Centre in Abu Dhabi has kicked off trials for a 23-foot autonomous patrol boat, part of its initiative to enhance smart mobility and develop the maritime transport sector.

These trials, overseen by the Smart and Autonomous Systems Council in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office and Blue Gulf Group, aim to integrate advanced autonomous control systems into the region's waterway monitoring operations.

Working in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Maritime, this project is designed to bolster surveillance, ensure better regulatory compliance, and enhance overall safety in maritime channels.

This initiative represents a pivotal advancement in smart technology deployment within the maritime sector. The anticipated benefits of using these autonomous boats include heightened monitoring efficiency, increased accuracy, and sustainable operations across the waterways.

Additionally, this effort contributes to the establishment of a sophisticated autonomous maritime transport ecosystem in Abu Dhabi, supporting the emirate’s overarching smart mobility objectives.

The Integrated Transport Centre has reiterated its dedication to employing innovative technologies and constructing a modern regulatory framework that boosts operational efficiency and public safety. It emphasizes the crucial role of strong collaborative efforts in fostering the future expansion of the maritime transport sector, thus enhancing safety and the quality of life in the emirate.
