Abu Dhabi, 5 November 2025 – The United Arab Emirates has welcomed the initiation of the peace agreement between the Kingdom of Thailand and the Kingdom of Cambodia, which was recently finalised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
In its response, the UAE said the agreement offers an opportunity to bolster security and stability across Southeast Asia, serve as a basis for continued constructive dialogue, strengthen neighbourly relations and advance prospects for peace, development and shared prosperity.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs lauded the diplomatic efforts of US President Donald Trump, citing his part in creating favourable conditions that helped bring the deal about. The ministry also highlighted Malaysia’s significant role as host and facilitator, and welcomed complementary regional and international initiatives that aim to support peace and stability in the region.
The UAE added that it hopes the accord will deepen cooperation and mutual understanding between Thailand and Cambodia, reaffirming strong ties with both countries and reiterating its support for initiatives that promote progress, prosperity and constructive diplomacy across the region.
