Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Judicial Council, presided over an important meeting on Wednesday at the Holy Quran Academy.
During the gathering, His Highness praised the dedication of the Judicial Council members in fortifying the judicial framework and maintaining the rule of law. He emphasized their vital role in creating a fair and transparent legal system that safeguards rights and advances community stability.
Enhancing Judicial Effectiveness and Clarity
The Council evaluated essential initiatives aimed at boosting judicial effectiveness and court productivity. Discussions centered on expediting case resolutions, improving litigation protocols, and attaining higher levels of precision and clarity in judicial endeavors.
New Regulations Approved
A key point of the meeting was the endorsement of a comprehensive suite of regulations aimed at modernizing judicial operations in line with international standards. This includes:
Judicial Inspection Regulation
Code of Judicial Conduct
Family Guidance Regulation
Custodial Children Visitation Rights Regulation
Professional Conduct Guidelines for Family Counselors
Regulations Governing Marriage Officials
These initiatives aim to bolster governance, accountability, and integrity within the legal system.
Announcement of Specialized Prosecution Departments
In a transformative move towards specialization, the Council ratified the formation of several new prosecution divisions, including:
Prosecution of Public Funds
Prosecution for Economic Crimes and Money Laundering
Narcotics Prosecution Division
Family and Child Prosecution Division
Traffic Prosecution Division
IT Prosecution Division
This initiative is anticipated to streamline case management, enhance expertise, and facilitate quicker justice in response to evolving legal demands.
Support for Women in the Judicial Sector
Additionally, the Council sanctioned an annual forum for women judges to be held on March 10, aligning with the International Day of Women Judges. This initiative seeks to empower female presence in the judiciary and foster professional development and knowledge exchange.
Tour of the Quranic Heritage Museum
On the sidelines of the meeting, His Highness visited the Museum of Celebrated Reciters at the Holy Quran Academy. The museum honors the illustrious legacy of Quran reciters from across the Arab world.
Notable figures featured include Abdul Basit Abdus Samad, Mahmoud Khalil Al-Husary, Ali Abdullah Jaber, and Bakri Al-Tarabishi.
His Highness examined unique collections, comprising rare recordings, manuscripts, photographs, and personal artifacts that illustrate the rich heritage of Quranic recitation.
State-of-the-art Production Facilities
The visit also included a tour of the academy’s advanced studios equipped with modern technology for Quranic, television, and radio production. Officials provided insights into the production process and showcased complete Quran recordings produced to international quality standards.
