Islamabad: His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates, touched down in Islamabad on Friday for an official visit, reinforcing the enduring relationship between the two nations.

Upon arrival at Nur Khan Airbase, Sheikh Mohamed received a warm greeting from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other senior officials, which underscored the rich diplomatic and social ties shared by the UAE and Pakistan.

As the UAE presidential aircraft entered Pakistani airspace, it was met by a formation of military jets, symbolizing respect and camaraderie. A formal state reception greeted his arrival, featuring the playing of both national anthems, a 21-gun salute, and a military honour guard to salute the esteemed visitor.

The event was enhanced by performances from military and traditional bands, infusing the occasion with cultural significance. Groups of schoolchildren, waving flags of the UAE and Pakistan, also lined the route, showcasing the friendship and warmth between the two countries.

Accompanying Sheikh Mohamed is a distinguished delegation, including Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, another adviser; and Salem Mohammed Al Zaabi, the UAE Ambassador to Pakistan, along with several ministers and senior officials.

The agenda for the visit is anticipated to prioritize enhancing bilateral ties across vital sectors such as economic collaboration, developmental projects, and the promotion of regional stability, resting on a foundation of trust and mutual assistance.
