Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan presided over the inaugural 2026 gathering of the Abu Dhabi Excellence Award for People of Determination Inclusion – known as Damj. The meeting concentrated on the pivotal outcomes and assessment criteria established by the jury committee.
Emphasis was placed on reviewing the standards utilized in each award category to gauge organizational impact. The meeting was attended by prominent officials, including Shamis Ali Al Dhaheri, Sana Mohammed Suhail, Mohammed Ali Al Shorafa, Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansoori, Ahmed Tamim Al Kuttab, Victor Santiago Pineda, and Layla Al Hyas.
During the engagement, committee members analyzed the thorough review processes to ensure equity, precision, and transparency. The board underscored the significance of the award in motivating institutions to embrace inclusive practices that enhance the lives of People of Determination.
Final evaluation results were shared by the jury committee, illustrating an increased dedication from organizations to adopt inclusive policies and services. These initiatives aim to empower individuals and encourage their active engagement in society.
Sheikh Khalid reiterated that inclusion is a cornerstone of the UAE leadership's vision. He noted that Abu Dhabi is committed to nurturing a society characterized by equal opportunities and comprehensive community involvement.
He further elaborated that the Damj Award serves as a strategic initiative, promoting sustained inclusion through clear standards while fostering continuous enhancement in institutional practices.
The meeting highlighted the necessity of gauging actual impact, confirming that inclusion initiatives yield tangible and lasting benefits. This award aligns with the UAE’s Year of Family, underlining the importance of inclusion in building resilient and stable families.
Discussions also revolved around expanding engagement from public, private, and third-sector entities, while raising awareness about the award and its objectives.
Officials commended the exemplary level of involvement and innovation by institutions, noting that the award has fostered healthy competition and facilitated the exchange of best practices.
The recipients of the Damj Award 2026 will be announced at a ceremony scheduled for later this year.
