Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan participated in the 17th EmiratesSkills National Competition at ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi. This event is set to run until May 20, 2026, organized by the Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET).
During his visit, Sheikh Khaled explored the exhibition areas, reviewing diverse student projects and innovative concepts from participants across the nation. He also received updates on various initiatives and training programs aimed at bolstering national skills and preparing Emirati youth for future employment demands in key economic sectors.
He commended the creativity and quality of the showcased projects, noting that the impressive performances of the students underscore the increasing competencies of UAE youth and foster a culture of excellence and competitiveness in technical education.
Sheikh Khaled reiterated that investing in youth skill development is crucial to the UAE’s vision. This effort focuses on equipping young talent with advanced skills and knowledge essential for innovation, digital advancements, and artificial intelligence integration.
The event also saw the participation of several senior officials, including Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan; Ahmed Tamim Al Kuttab; Shamis Ali Al Dhaheri; Mohamed Taj Eddine Ahmed Alqadi; Saif Saeed Ghobash; and Dr. Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi.
Establishing itself in 2006, EmiratesSkills now serves as a premier platform for nurturing young talents in technical and vocational sectors. This year marks the competition's 20th anniversary, celebrating two decades of skills development contributions in the UAE.
The 2026 edition showcases 37 technical and vocational skills, with over 150 experts evaluating the projects. In total, 502 male and female students from all over the UAE are representing the next wave of skilled talent.
