Sea Limited has announced a S$50 million donation to support the long-term development of football in Singapore, marking the largest corporate contribution to the sport in the country. The company, which operates Shopee, said the funds will be used to strengthen the football ecosystem and expand opportunities for players and communities.
Out of the total amount, S$40 million will be progressively disbursed to initiatives aimed at increasing participation, enhancing development pathways, and improving infrastructure. The remaining S$10 million had already been contributed earlier in 2026 to the Football Association of Singapore (FAS). Sea added that it will collaborate closely with government agencies and football stakeholders to ensure the funds are used effectively.
Sea’s chairman and CEO, Forrest Li, who also serves as FAS president, highlighted football’s role in uniting communities and creating opportunities for youth. He said the contribution reflects the company’s commitment to giving back and supporting Singapore’s sporting ambitions at both grassroots and professional levels.
The company has a long history of involvement in local football, including ownership of the Lion City Sailors and investments in training facilities and youth development. The latest pledge builds on its broader community initiatives and comes as Singapore prepares for upcoming regional competitions, including the AFC Asian Cup 2027.
