The Supreme Judiciary Council has set forth an ambitious long-term strategy focused on the digital enhancement of Qatar’s judicial framework from 2026 to 2030, aiming to enrich both efficiency and service quality.
In an announcement to Qatar News Agency, Judge Ahmed Al Mansoori, Head of the Judicial Inspection Authority, emphasized that this work program is in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 and prioritizes the elevation of judicial performance nationwide.
Judge Al Mansoori outlined various key objectives, including refining inspection processes, elevating judicial ruling standards, enhancing transparency, and empowering judicial personnel through skills development.
He noted significant advancements attributable to Law No. 8 of 2023 and its associated regulations, which broadened the Authority’s responsibilities in overseeing judicial operations and improving performance benchmarks.
According to Judge Al Mansoori, one substantial hurdle for the judiciary is keeping pace with swift technological evolution, particularly regarding digital systems.
The Authority plays a vital role in this transformation by assessing performance metrics, identifying obstacles, and advocating for reforms that bolster institutional efficiency and judicial results.
Efforts are also underway to bolster public confidence in the justice sector by enhancing integrity, transparency, and impartiality while ensuring thorough legal procedures for complaints.
The strategy promises to establish precise judicial performance indicators aligned with governance standards, utilizing advanced statistics and continuous evaluation methods to boost judicial productivity.
Judge Al Mansoori underscored the necessity of ongoing judicial training, which will be tailored based on regular inspections and assessments.
Additionally, the Judicial Inspection Authority is embracing digital innovations to implement efficient performance monitoring and data analysis systems, thereby improving efficiency and accuracy over conventional methods.
In support of Qatar’s digital justice initiative, the Authority aims to integrate modern technologies and artificial intelligence into judicial processes.
Concerning the swift handling of court cases, Judge Al Mansoori remarked that while speed is essential, it must not compromise the quality of judicial decisions, noting ongoing efforts to enhance both aspects through updated standards and vigilant oversight.
He also affirmed the Authority's dedication to enhancing collaboration with domestic and international judicial entities to share expertise and integrate global best practices in governance and judiciary evolution.
Looking ahead, Judge Al Mansoori expressed optimism about the judicial sector's future, supported by robust institutional backing and ongoing advancements toward a sophisticated digital judiciary that aligns with modern legislative and technological trends.
He concluded by hinting at several upcoming initiatives such as a judicial governance framework, improved performance metrics, enriched judicial training programs, and new publications aimed at fostering institutional growth.
