Prabowo Reaffirms $32 Billion Nusantara Capital Project During Historic Stay

Prabowo Reaffirms $32 Billion Nusantara Capital Project During Historic Stay

Post by : Meena Ariff

Indonesia’s President Prabowo Subianto has strongly reaffirmed his commitment to the $32 billion Nusantara capital city project, highlighting it as a cornerstone of the nation’s future growth and development. This confirmation came during his first overnight stay in the planned capital, signaling a new phase of focus and momentum for the ambitious initiative.

Since taking office in October 2024, questions have circulated about the project’s future and the government’s dedication to relocating the nation’s administrative center from Jakarta to Nusantara. Prabowo’s visit puts those doubts to rest, demonstrating clear leadership and resolve to push forward with the massive infrastructure plan.

The Nusantara project is designed to tackle Jakarta’s chronic congestion and environmental challenges by building a modern, sustainable city on the island of Borneo. It aims to spread economic opportunities more evenly across the country while setting new standards for green urban planning.

Construction and development work have been steadily progressing, and the president’s presence at the site serves to boost public confidence and attract further investment. Officials are optimistic that Nusantara will emerge as a symbol of Indonesia’s innovation, environmental stewardship, and economic dynamism.

By reaffirming the government’s unwavering support, Prabowo sends a strong message both domestically and internationally: Nusantara is not just a vision, but an unfolding reality that will reshape Indonesia’s future for generations to come.
