Netflix K-Drama ‘Still Shining’ Stars Park Jin-young

Netflix K-Drama ‘Still Shining’ Stars Park Jin-young

A new Korean drama titled Still Shining has begun attracting attention among K-drama fans for its slow-burn romance and emotional storytelling. The series stars Park Jin-young and Kim Min-ju, who portray two students whose relationship evolves from their teenage years into adulthood.

The story follows Yeon Tae-seo, a top student studying in Seoul who returns to the countryside with his injured brother after bullying incidents disrupt their lives. At a struggling rural school, Tae-seo spends his summer studying in the library, where he meets Mo Eun-a, another student preparing for the highly competitive college entrance exams.

Despite their different personalities—Tae-seo being disciplined and focused while Eun-a is more carefree—the two gradually form a bond while studying together. Their friendship slowly develops into a romantic connection, but an awkward confession and the pressures of school create distance between them as they pursue separate paths to university.

As the series progresses, the characters reunite years later in Seoul, forcing them to confront unresolved feelings and the emotional scars from their past. Tae-seo struggles with family trauma after losing his parents in a car accident, while Eun-a deals with concerns about her father’s mental health. These personal challenges add emotional depth to the romance at the centre of the story.

Directed by Kim Yoon-jin and written by Lee Sook-yun, the series focuses on quiet storytelling rather than dramatic twists. Critics say the drama’s reflective tone and gradual pacing may appeal to viewers who enjoy character-driven romance rather than fast-paced plots.

While some audiences appreciate its emotional themes and nostalgic atmosphere, others believe the slow narrative requires patience. As the series continues to unfold on Netflix, viewers are waiting to see whether the story’s long-delayed reunion will turn the characters’ first love into a lasting relationship.
