The fifth iteration of Make it in the Emirates commenced at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi, inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan from May 4 to 7.
Co-organized by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology along with influential governmental and industrial partners like ADNOC and ADNEC Group, this year's tagline, "Advanced Industry. Emerging Stronger," signifies the UAE's commitment to spearheading innovation and fostering industrial expansion.
During his visit, Sheikh Mansour explored various exhibitors and assessed groundbreaking technologies, notably in artificial intelligence and contemporary manufacturing. He received updates on national strategies aimed at enhancing the industrial arena, optimizing supply chains, and elevating the UAE's competitive standing on the global stage.
This event stands as the preeminent gathering in the region for industry stakeholders, uniting government officials, investors, entrepreneurs, and specialists to forge new partnerships and uncover growth avenues.
On the sidelines, a meeting took place between Sheikh Mansour and Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef of Oman, focusing on enhancing bilateral economic ties.
Sheikh Mansour emphasized that the nation's leadership is unwavering in its support for industrial advancement by fostering innovation, attracting investments, and encouraging a versatile business framework. He remarked that this event is integral to the UAE's economic diversification strategy and resonates with long-term goals like "We the UAE 2031" and the "UAE Centennial 2071."
Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber's address reflected significant progress within the industrial sector, stating its contribution has surged to AED 200 billion—an impressive 70% increase since 2021. Industrial exports have risen to AED 262 billion, inclusive of AED 92 billion from advanced industries.
Furthermore, he forecasted industrial procurement prospects to escalate to AED 180 billion within the coming decade, aiming to localize over 5,000 products across pivotal sectors such as food, healthcare, and manufacturing.
ADNOC also revealed investment opportunities exceeding AED 200 billion slated for the next two years, launching the "Local+" initiative intended to bolster UAE manufacturers and reinforce local supply chains.
The exhibition encompasses over 1,245 businesses across 12 sectors, with small and medium enterprises comprising 61% of the exhibitors. An estimated 120,000 attendees are anticipated.
Additionally, the government has announced a AED 1 billion National Industrial Resilience Fund aimed at strengthening vital industries, enhancing supply chains, and boosting domestic production.
Make it in the Emirates 2026 strives to convert industrial strategies into tangible business opportunities, unveiling new projects while promoting advanced technologies such as robotics and AI, ultimately generating job opportunities for Emiratis.
This platform remains essential in aiding startups, attracting investments, and laying the groundwork for a robust and sustainable industrial future in the UAE.
