A flight bound for Dubai from Madurai was diverted on Sunday morning after crew detected a technical fault shortly after departure. The pilot opted for a precautionary reroute and focused on securing the safety of all on board.
Aviation officials described the problem as minor but sufficient to merit diversion. The aircraft landed without incident and authorities confirmed there were no injuries. Passengers left the plane calmly while airport engineers and ground teams inspected the aircraft.
The unscheduled diversion created short-lived delays at Madurai Airport, but normal operations resumed soon after. The airline organised an alternate aircraft to transport travellers to Dubai following detailed safety checks.
Passengers praised the crew for clear communication and steady leadership during the episode. "The captain kept us informed and reassured everyone," one traveller said.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has been notified and a technical investigation is under way to determine the cause of the fault.
The incident highlights the value of routine maintenance and the effectiveness of established aviation safety procedures in India when technical issues arise midflight.
