In a thrilling Stage 4 of the Giro d’Italia, Jhonatan Narváez of UAE Team Emirates-XRG showcased his talent by winning the 138km leg from Catanzaro to Cosenza.
The final moments of the race witnessed teammate Jan Christen’s explosive attack in the last two kilometers, putting pressure on the frontrunners and creating an opening for Narváez to unleash his sprint.
Narváez executed a powerful finish, overtaking Movistar Team’s Orluis Aular, who came in second, while Giulio Ciccone of Lidl-Trek finished third.
This victory marks a remarkable return for Narváez, who was competing for the first time since sustaining multiple fractured vertebrae at the Tour Down Under in January. His impressive performance exemplified resilience, delivering an essential win for the team.
Christen had a strong showing as well, finishing with the lead pack and moving into second place overall, just four seconds behind the lead. He also ascended to the top of the young rider standings, donning the coveted white jersey.
With this notable accomplishment in Stage 4, UAE Team Emirates-XRG carries newfound momentum into the upcoming stages of the Giro d’Italia.
