Recent satellite images suggest that Iran has intensified construction and protective work at several sensitive nuclear and military locations. Experts say new concrete structures, buried tunnels, and reinforced facilities indicate efforts to shield key sites from potential airstrikes, as pressure mounts from the United States.
The developments come at a time when former US President Donald Trump has warned of possible military action if negotiations over Iran’s nuclear programme fail. While Washington seeks a renewed agreement with Tehran, the satellite data shows Iran simultaneously strengthening infrastructure at locations previously targeted during conflicts involving Israel.
Key sites highlighted in the imagery include the Parchin military complex near Tehran, tunnel systems at the Isfahan nuclear facility, and fortified entrances close to the Natanz enrichment site. Analysts note that burying tunnel entrances and covering new structures with soil could significantly reduce damage from aerial attacks and limit access during ground operations.
Missile bases near Shiraz and Qom also appear to be under repair following earlier strikes. Although reconstruction is visible, experts believe some bases have not yet returned to full operational capacity, suggesting ongoing recovery efforts.
Iran has consistently denied pursuing nuclear weapons, maintaining that its programme is for peaceful purposes. However, analysts say the scale and nature of recent fortification work underscore the high level of regional tension and the fragile state of diplomacy surrounding Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
