On Tuesday, the University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) reached a significant milestone as it celebrated the graduation of its first Class of 2026. The event took place under the esteemed patronage of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani.
This year, a remarkable cohort of 1,321 graduates emerged from various academic fields. Among them are 484 from the College of Business, 285 from the College of Computing and Information Technology, 341 from the College of Engineering and Technology, and 211 from the College of Health Sciences.
At the ceremony, HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Lolwah bint Rashid bin Mohammed Al Khater recognized 250 exceptional students for their academic achievements.
HE Dr. Abdulaziz bin Nasser bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, President of the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau and Secretary General of the National Planning Council, addressed the graduates, emphasizing Qatar's national vision and the essential role of education, innovation, and responsibility in shaping a sustainable future.
UDST President Dr. Salem Al-Naemi congratulated the students, referring to the class as extraordinary. He highlighted their successful navigation through a demanding academic year, showcasing the value of applied education and hands-on experience.
He mentioned that UDST is progressing with a transparent strategy that prioritizes performance-based planning and innovation, having expanded to 80 academic programs—including new master's, bachelor's, and diploma routes in fields like health administration, midwifery, animal health, and veterinary science.
Furthermore, the university is dedicated to applied research and advanced training within crucial sectors, including renewable energy, food security, digital transformation, and health technologies. A fresh strategy for carbon neutrality has also been introduced to align with its long-term sustainability objectives, resonating with Qatar’s National Vision 2030.
The UDST President acknowledged that students have acquired vital real-world skills through state-of-the-art labs, simulation tools, and industry collaborations, effectively preparing them for future careers.
Class of 2026 valedictorian, Mohamad Al-Qassabi, shared his pride in representing his peers on this special occasion.
