Zayed National Museum, the leading institution of cultural heritage in the UAE, is set to host the Accessibility Conference 2026, themed “From Barriers to Belonging – Accessibility in Museum Practices”, from November 3 to 5, 2026.
This conference aims to address the enhancement of accessibility in museums and cultural venues, advocating for holistic and enduring changes rather than temporary fixes. With a diverse international lineup of experts, organizations, and attendees, the discussions will focus on inclusive practices, real-life experiences, and actionable strategies.
Dr. Peter Magee, the museum’s director, emphasized that the conference underscores the institution's dedication to ensuring that heritage, creativity, and knowledge are accessible to all individuals. He also highlighted the museum's goal of becoming a worldwide leader in inclusive cultural engagement, pledging tailored support for all attendees regarding their accessibility needs.
