Abu Dhabi: His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates, engaged in a phone discussion with His Excellency Ahmed Al Sharaa, President of the Syrian Arab Republic, to explore ways to enhance their bilateral relations and tackle regional developments.
The two leaders affirmed their commitment to fostering cooperation in various sectors to benefit both nations. They highlighted the significance of partnerships that support shared interests, reinforcing ties that have historically bound the UAE and Syria.
President Al Sharaa reiterated the strong and enduring relationship between the countries, emphasizing the joint dedication to stability and collaboration.
During their conversation, they also delved into the recent regional dynamics and the associated security implications. Both leaders expressed their apprehension regarding Iranian activities that threaten both the UAE and other regional countries, citing incidents that jeopardize civilian safety and vital infrastructure.
The two presidents agreed that these actions violate national sovereignty and international law as outlined in the United Nations Charter. They advocated for united efforts to uphold peace, security, and regional stability.
