The first Al Ain International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition has officially been inaugurated in the UAE, celebrating a fusion of culture, heritage, and modernization. Held at the ADNEC Centre under the auspices of H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the event attracted notable figures, including Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, who engaged with participants and highlighted the exhibition’s significance.
Organized by ADNEC Group, in partnership with the Emirates Falconers Club, this event is established as a premier platform for showcasing both time-honored Emirati traditions and cutting-edge innovations. It emphasizes cultural sports such as hunting and equestrian events, inviting opportunities for knowledge-sharing and the exchange of cultures. The initiative positions Al Ain as a key destination in the Gulf for tourism and cultural heritage, particularly ahead of its designation as Gulf Tourism Capital for 2025.
During his visit, Sheikh Nahyan toured the exhibition alongside Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Group CEO of ADNEC Group, gaining insights into the latest innovations in hunting, equestrian sports, and camping. He expressed the essential role of such expos in highlighting Al Ain's cultural and tourism potential, emphasizing the balance between heritage and innovation necessary for sustainable development.
Sheikh Nahyan further articulated that the UAE, guided by President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, prioritizes the safeguarding of its national heritage while fostering innovation and sustainability. This exhibition serves as a platform for international and local firms to share expertise and enhance collaborations while showcasing the richness of Emirati customs. The event underscores Al Ain’s narrative as a city dedicated to harmonizing contemporary advancements with its historical legacy.
The inaugural edition featured 873 exhibitors across 12 countries, with a space coverage of 24,000 square meters, demonstrating substantial UAE participation at 88 percent and international representation at 12 percent. Attendees enjoyed over 20 live showcases and heritage competitions, including traditional cooking contests organized with the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, Arabic coffee workshops, and the captivating Al Yola traditional dance, all emphasizing community engagement and a commitment to cultural preservation.
This exhibition symbolizes a seamless connection between the past and the future, intertwining heritage with new opportunities while reflecting the UAE’s goals of sustainability, knowledge exchange, and global partnerships. Supporting traditional sports, hunting, and equestrian pursuits, the UAE is creating a global reputation that intertwines its rich culture with modern progress. The event signifies a collaborative path toward enduring development in Al Ain and beyond.
