Sheikh Mohammed Fast-Tracks UAE AI Drive at Government Annual Meetings

Post by : Rameen Ariff

Abu Dhabi — 6 November 2025: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, led a review of major government initiatives designed to sharpen the UAE’s competitive edge in future industries during the UAE Government Annual Meetings.

The Abu Dhabi summit, running through November 6, assembled more than 500 federal and local officials to report on project progress, map strategic priorities and accelerate innovation across the country.

Sheikh Mohammed said the nation’s approach is steered by the Union’s spirit and the guidance of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, with a clear focus on delivering national objectives.

New measures unveiled included an AI Readiness Indicator to benchmark the nation’s preparedness for widespread AI adoption and a targeted initiative to uncover 1,000 practical AI applications across sectors — moves aimed at cementing the UAE’s standing as a global AI and technology hub.

The meetings marked the first convening of the Ministerial Development Council, bringing together ministers and senior federal and local leaders to better synchronise strategic plans. Parallel sessions of the Executive Councils of Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Ras Al Khaimah reinforced coordinated governance across emirates.

Reflecting on governmental momentum, Sheikh Mohammed noted the dedication of public teams to push innovation, enhance performance and deliver future-ready solutions.

The UAE Government Annual Meetings 2025 showcased national progress in AI and digital transformation while strengthening collaborative mechanisms that propel the country’s vision to become a global centre for technology and sustainable growth.
