Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoon Celebrates at the Finale of Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Championship

His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, was present at the concluding day of the 17th Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship. Hosted at Mubadala Arena within Zayed Sports City, the event saw participation from approximately 10,000 athletes hailing from over 130 countries, showcasing its evolution into a significant global sporting affair.

During the awards ceremony, Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoon bin Mohammed acknowledged the victors in the professional black belt categories. His attendance underscored the UAE's dedication to advancing jiu-jitsu on both local and international stages. He commended the seamless organization of the event, emphasizing that it mirrors the aspirations of the UAE's leadership towards supporting athletes and fostering sports development.

The last day of the championship was graced by numerous dignitaries and leaders from the sports sector. Notable attendees included Sheikh Zayed bin Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Excellency Sheikh Suhail Bin Butti Suhail Al Maktoum, Executive Director of the Sports Development Sector at the General Authority of Sports; Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum; and Sheikh Tariq Bin Faisal bin Khalid Al Qassimi.

Also in attendance were His Excellency Abdulmunem Alhashmi, Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation and an influential figure in both regional and global jiu-jitsu sectors; His Excellency Mohamed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation; and His Excellency Aref Hamad Al Awani, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.

The event also garnered support from senior representatives of national sports organizations, cultural sectors, and significant businesses, including officials from the Zayed Authority for People of Determination, ADNOC, and Palms Sports. Their involvement highlighted the strong synergy between sporting bodies, government entities, and key stakeholders.

The championship wrapped up with vibrant celebrations, marking yet another successful iteration of one of the world’s most prominent jiu-jitsu competitions. The UAE’s steadfast backing assures that Abu Dhabi continues to be a central hub for martial arts, establishing it as a premier destination for exceptional sports events.
